Rapid Air Dome The Specification provided below covers the requirement of design, manufacturer, testing and supply of inflatable tent with all accessories to be used during emergency rescues operation.

The tent shall be pneumatically inflated and it shall be possible to inflate with independent air supply kit or also with compressor. The supplier shall indicate the provision made for stability of inflated tent during torrential rain and thunderstorm. It shall be possible to peg the tent even on uneven surface. The equipment shall be made as per standard practiced international standard.

Basic Design Features

Material

1. It shall be made of proven light weight fabric. The fabric material used with corresponding specification and its weight should be specified. Materials of the tent shall be such that it does not get punctured at site, as the site is likely to have sharp edge articles. Lower weight of the tent along with accessories shall be preferred but it shall remain within 130-140 kgs. Our tents are constructed from highly durable fire retardant PVC coated Polyester.

Quality

We have many years experience of using this material and it is proven to be of an exceptional quality. Each tent will weigh approximately 110kg without its inflation equipment.

Rapid Inflation / Deployment

The volume of air and time required to inflate and erect the tent shall be indicated. However, the erection time shall not be more than 4 minutes.

Air Volume

Air Dome Shelter Each tent has an air volume of approximately 20 cubic metres. The inflation time will depend upon the number of inflation units connected to a tent during its installation. A single inflation unit would take approximately 8 minutes to inflate a tent. 2 units would reduce this to 4 minutes. Up to four inflation units can be connected to a tent thereby reducing the inflation time potentially to 2 minutes.

Air Tight Construction

It shall be of all air tight construction and should hold air without pressure drop for minimum 72 hours. The time for which it will be able to hold the air and maintain shape without re-filling shall be specified. Our tents are not designed to be 100% airtight and require an inflation unit to be connected at all times. The tents are of a welded construction and are virtually airtight but require a blower for periodic topping up which is controlled automatically by a small control system.

The amount of air loss is very low and the blower will typically only run 10% of the time on a single tent. We purposely do not strive to make the tents 100% airtight for a number of reasons.

Structural Integrity

Firstly, if a tent suffers damage the blower/control system can compensate for the air loss (up to acertain point) so that the tent does not lose any of its structural integrity. Secondly, having a blower/control system permanently attached ensures that the pressure in the tent is kept constant and therefore at the optimum value to maximise its structural rigidity which is essential if it is to withstand severe weatherconditions. Thirdly, producing a completely airtight structure would require a heavier fabric with a different coating that would significantly increase the manufacturing costs.

Inflation Equipment

Air Dome Finally, the equipment required to inflate our tents is typically lighter and far more portable than the air bottles and associated equipment required to inflate perfectly airtight structures and also avoids the hazards associated with handling high pressure gases.

Air Pressure

The pressure inside the frame of inflatable tent shall be indicated. Our tents typically operate at pressures in the range of 1 to 2 psi. This combined with the diameter of the tubes making up the tents produces exceptionally rigid structures capable of withstanding very severe weather.

Pressure Relief Valves

Air filling arrangement shall have relief valve to prevent over filling. Pressure relief valves are fitted as standard to all our inflatable structures.

Ventilation

It shall be able to roll up entrance door and windows for proper ventilation. No problem.

Cleaning

The tent shall not call for any special maintenance and it shall be washable with normal detergent powder. It shall be possible to repair the material of the tent if any damage takes place. Our tents require no special maintenance and can be cleaned with normal detergents. The material can be repaired easily using the included repair kit.

Fasteners

The fasteners used shall be of reputed make and preferably of Velcro type. The type of fasteners used in the tent shall be specified. All the fasteners used throughout the tents are of the Velcro type.

Weight Stabilizer

The type of weight stabilizer that will be used for keeping the tent in stabilized condition against wind pressure and rain should be specified. Various types of anchors can be provided to accommodate the different ground conditions on which the tents will be installed. For installation on earth/turf we can supply spiral ground anchors, which are easily installed with the tooling included.

Installation

For installation on a hard standing we can provide chemical anchors if it is possible to drill into the hard standing. For situations where it is not possible to penetrate the ground we can supply plastic water filled ballast containers. Another alternative is to use sandbags - the actual anchoring performance will then depend upon the weight of the material used to fill the bags.

Weather Conditions

Our existing design of tent (of a similar size to those required) has a proven track record of operating successfully in severe weather conditions including heavy rain, thunderstorms, snow and winds in excess of 100 mph.

REPAIR KIT: Supplied by Ronfell Group

Repair kit required for normal maintenance of inflatable tent shall also be offered along with details of work that can be carried out with that kit. Repair kits are included as standard with our products. These are comprised of spare fabric, pre-cut patches, adhesive and the tools necessary to effect repairs. Damage such as punctures and tears can be repaired using these kits. As stated previously, minor damage such as small punctures/tears will not compromise the performance of the tents due to the inflation/control system used. If required, other spares such as valves, hoses, control systems, blowers can be provided at additional cost. In our experience it is very unlikely that these items will ever need replacement during the life of the tents hence the reason for offering them as an optional extra.
